I can do better.... ;-)

I decided to embark on this blog thing to give myself an outlet for all the talk that happens in my head and to share the wonderful world of food with you.
Last week I was following a recipe in a cookbook just to see if "anyone" can cook. I followed every direction even though it was killing me. I have never been one to follow the rules. It was going to be a nice Shabbat (Sabbath, traditional Friday night) meal. I  made a chicken Marsala with garlic mashed potatoes from the cookbook and I made my own green beans. Well, lets say the chicken was dry based on the books coking times and the mashed potatoes were not so garlic. After that meal I changed my mind on the point of what I wanted my blog to be. I love to cook great food and since I am good at it (yes I will toot my own horn here), I will just cook my own recipes and share them along the way. For those who know me well this is a big step, I don't normally share recipes. That being said, the only recipe I can not share is my family's secret Challah recipe, sorry Racheal.

Green Beans
1 pound frozen whole Green beans, defrosted
1 red pepper cut into small chunks
1 medium onion cut into small chunks
1/4 cup soy sauce
2TBS oil
1TBS cornstarch
2 tsp onion soup mix
1 TBS honey
1TBS brown sugar
mix all dressing ingredients together and pour over veggies.
Bake covered for
20 min at 350degrees

just a good pic of my Challah!
